Construction
The vibratory plate consists of the following main sub-assemblies:
– Base plate
– Engine chassis
– Operator handle
– Protective roll bar / lifting frame.
Base Plate:
Mounted onto the base plate is the exciter mechanism, which produces the vibrational force.
Engine Chassis:
The engine chassis comprises a supporting frame and a petrol engine. The chassis is suspended above the base plate by the means of rubber buffers to damp vibrations. The engine is connected to the exciter mechanism on the base plate by a centrifugal clutch and a V belt.
The operator handle is attached to the engine plate by rubber buffers.
The following extras are available:
– Paving stone protection mat
– Transport Wheel
– Water spraying system.
Mode of Operation
The exciter is driven by the engine via a centrifugal clutch and a V belt drive.
The revolutions of the exciter shaft produce the centrifugal force.
The centrifugal force causes the plate to vibrate on the material to be compacted. It also creates a natural forward motion of the complete unit. The back of the plate acts as a smoothing device.
Once the exciter has been started, the machine can be steered by moving the operator handle sideways. The optional water spraying system is started by opening the sprinkler valve and allow the water to run on the underside of the tamper.
