Travelling
On Site
In the following instructions refer to Installing/Removing where appropriate.
Robot Skid Steer Loader
Before driving the carrier with the JCB Drillmaster 750/1200/1650/2150 installed, remove the auger. Position the earth drill as shown and raise the loader arm to provide sufficient ground clearance.
Backhoe Loaders (Excavator End)/801 Series Mini Excavators
1 Raise the boom/dipper so that the auger tip clears the ground. Tuck in the earth drill as close to the machine as possible without it being a potential cause of damage (see 3 below).
2 Always stop the auger rotating when moving around the site, even if it is only from one hole position to the next in a fence post planting operation.
3 Remember that the earth drill/auger assembly is free to swing around as the ground surface undulates. To minimise the amount by which the assembly swings, drive very slowly and carefully. If necessary tether the auger with a chain.
On the Road
Robot Skid Steer Loader
The earth drill and frame should be transported on a truck (refer to the machine Operator Handbook for information on transporting the machine).
If appropriate, with the auger removed, the earth drill can be left attached to the attachment frame and lowered to the floor of the truck. The machine must be securely lashed to the truck.
Backhoe Loaders (Excavator End)/801 Series Mini Excavators
1 The earth drill must always be removed from the machine before it can be driven on the road or loaded onto a truck.
2 For fairly short distances it may be practical to carry the earth drill and auger, separated if necessary, in the machine bucket.
Backhoe Loaders (Loader End)/Loadalls
The earth drill and frame must always be removed from the machine before it can be driven on the road or loaded onto a truck.
