This manual instructs you on the JCB Hammermaster 260/260L and its safe operation and maintenance. Although some guidance on selecting tools and using the equipment is given, this book is not a training manual. If you are a new operator, get yourself trained in the skills of using a hydraulic breaker before trying to work with it. If you don’t, you will not do your job well, and you will be a danger to yourself and others.
Equipment Model and Serial Number
This manual deals with the JCB Hammermaster 260/260L. The Hammermaster 260 is designed to operate with JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. The Hammermaster 260L
is designed to operate with the JCB 2CX backhoe loader.
An Installation Kit for appropriate JCB machines can be purchased from your JCB Distributor.
Although designed for use with JCB carriers, the Hammermaster can be installed on any carrier which is hydraulically and mechanically suitable (see SPECIFICATION section). If you wish to install the Hammermaster on a non-JCB machine contact the machine manufacturer for advice.
The serial number is stamped on the data plate located between the two pivot bosses on the left hand sideplate.
